Smaller shooting range latest plan
We all know the history: First, sportsmen lost their range near Fort Tuthill. Next, a site near Bellemont was selected, but residents there were not that open to the idea, and AZGFD dropped that idea because of pending litigation. Another search ended with Williard Springs, near Munds Park being selected. The idea was to build a 300-600 acre facility with camping located nearby. As I understand it, a feasibility study and cost estimate are still under review at this point. With shooters in the Flagstaff area still anxious for a range to their own, on to the next idea…
Now, instead of planning a large shooting range able to accommodate high-powered rifles, Game and Fish is looking at a smaller range east of Flagstaff. See the full story here.
