RMEF 25th Anniversary Flagstaff Banquet a Success

Last Saturday evening we held our 25th Anniversary RMEF Big Game Banquet here in Flagstaff, AZ. The Flagstaff Chapter, or Chapter number 1, was the very first chapter to conduct a Big Game Banquet.

The night was a fun-filled, hoot’n and holler’n good time enjoyed by well over 300 folks from around the region and beyond. Even the CEO of RMEF, David Allen, traveled all the way from Missoula, Montana to speak at the banquet. In addition to the evening’s events such as the Live Auction with auctioneer, Rusty DeSpain, Bonus Raffles, Bucket Raffles, Shot Glass Raffle, and many more, we honored a few great individuals as well. First, Lyle and Bob Button (in attendance) and Mike Cupell (not in attendance) were honored for their efforts as the pioneers of RMEF’s early banquets. Second, John Goodwin, with the Arizona Game and Fish Department was honored for his work on the Tusayan Pipeline, and received an antler engraved with a special thank you message. And lastly, even my Co-Chair, Clair Harris, was honored with the naming of “Clair” tank, just one of many that he has volunteered his countless hours of devotion over the years.

Most importantly, we (everyone in attendance and all others that support RMEF) raised approximately 40K to put back into conservation of elk and other wildlife habitat here in Arizona!!!
